Marion Jones Needs Dubbya’s Help

Fallen Olympic track star Marion Jones, has reportedly asked President Bush to commute her six-month prison sentence for perjury.  Jones was convicted of lying to federal agents about her use of using steroids and for her involvement in a check-fraud scam.  The Department of Justice confirmed that Jones is listed with hundreds of other felons appealing for a presidential pardons or sentence commutations.  The difference between the two is that when one is pardoned the conviction is wiped from their record.  Conversely a commutation either reduces their sentence or removes it completely…the conviction however, remains on their record. I say, you do the crime, you do the time.  Let her ass go to jail.  Humph!
