MTV Cancels 50’s Reality Show

50150 Cent’s new reality show “50 Cent: The Money and the Power” set to air on MTV, has been canceled before ever airing.

“Our new shows will feature themes of affirmation and accomplishment,” says Brian Graden, president of entertainment at MTV Networks music channels and president of Logo. “Our shows are going to focus less on loud and silly hooks and more on young people proving themselves. These are themes that are consistent with the Obama generation.” Source

Between the tidbits of info I hear from within the organization and from the trade magazines, ratings over here at MTV are not doing so hot so they’re going to overhaul production to find a way to hold the attention of the seemingly helpless ADD generation.  I hope they don’t think “Double Shot of Love” or “Bromance” is gonna do that.

  1. I really have enjoyed watching 50 Cent’s show. I haven’t watched MTV much in the past, but haven’t missed an episode of 50 Cent’s show. Too bad it is being cancelled – I guess no reason to watch MTV any more.

  2. i had to give up trying to watch Bromance after a few minutes, it’s so awkward
