Snoop Cleared in Onstage Assault Suit

snoopSnoop has been cleared of assault charges stemming from an incident during a 2005 concert.

Richard Monroe, Jr. was suing him for $22 million in damages alleging that he was attacked after being “asked” onstage during a Seattle concert.

Snoop was cleared, however, the jury ruled that he be awarded $449,400 by Snoop’s label for injuries received during the concert.

The only statement Snoop made during court was, “The best way for the injuries not to have occurred (was) for him (Monroe) to stay in his seat and enjoy the show like the rest of the fans.” Source

Civil cases are interesting in that way.  Even if no clear wrongdoing can be accredited to a particular party, you can still sue the pants off of them.
