New Album from Danger Mouse Scrapped

dangermouseProducer and one half of Gnarls Barkley, Danger Mouse, has scrapped his upcoming album after a legal dispute with his record company.

He had teamed up with rockers Sparklehorse and filmmaker David Lynch to produce a 13-track album, featuring contributions like Iggy Pop, The Strokes’ Julian Casablancas, The Flaming Lips, and The Pixies.
The CD was to be accompanied by a photography book created by Lynch.
But due to a legal battle with EMI the album won’t be released.

Danger Mouse, nee Brian Burton, hasn’t commented on it but he’s replacing the record with a blank disc carrying the label “For Legal Reasons, enclosed CD-R contains no music. Use it as you will.”
A spokesperson for the star tells NME.com, “Danger Mouse remains hugely proud of Dark Night Of The Soul and hopes that people lucky enough to hear the music, by whatever means, are as excited by it as he is.”

Damn, that sucks, cus I’m sure this album would have been fire!
